We are experiencing mechanical issues that may affect garbage collection on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Any garbage not collected today will be collected on Friday, August 7, 2026.
If your garbage remains uncollected after the end of the day on Friday, August 7, please contact our office so we can assist you.

Southern Shore:
The Eastern Regional Service Board (ERSB) has reached an interim agreement with a new waste collection contractor. Collection services will continue with the following temporary schedule changes:
Collection Schedule Changes:
- Tuesday collections are now being collected on Thursdays, including bi-weekly recycling beginning August 6.
- Wednesday collections are now being collected on Fridays, including bi-weekly recycling beginning August 7.
Reporting Collection Issues:
As the new contractor becomes familiar with collection routes and communities, some adjustments may be required. If your waste or recycling is missed, please contact ERSB as soon as possible:

Waste Recovery Facilities :
- Bell Island - Bell Island Waste Recovery Facility - is no longer operated by ERSB.
Residents please be reminded that waste must be curbside and accessible by 7 a.m. All garbage receptacles must be accessible and cleared of snow. Also note that any roads that are unsafe to travel due to winter conditions may experience delayed collection whereby waste will not be collected until the following week.
Collection Reminders:
Residents are reminded that all waste must be placed curbside and accessible by 7:00 a.m. on their scheduled collection day. All garbage and recycling receptacles must also be cleared of snow and easily accessible to collection crews.
Please note that roads deemed unsafe for travel due to winter weather conditions may experience collection delays. In these cases, waste may not be collected until the next scheduled collection day. We appreciate your patience and understanding during adverse weather conditions.
