Canada Post Privacy Breach May Impact Some Eastern Regional Service Board Customers

St. John’s, Newfoundland (January 27, 2021) On Tuesday, January 26, the Eastern Regional Service Board (ERSB) was advised by Canada Post about an incident that may affect some customers and the security of their information. Between Thursday, January 21 and Monday, January 25, a number of pieces of mail addressed to ERSB were reportedly taken from a Canada Post mailbox. We take the security and privacy of our customer’s information seriously and are communicating with Canada Post who is working with local authorities to investigate this incident.

Our first priority is always our customers. We are advising those who sent in cheques or completed forms during the week of January 18 to contact our office directly to confirm receipt. We also ask these same customers to monitor their bank accounts and immediately report any suspicious activity directly to their financial institution.

We will continue to provide updates, as made available by Canada Post, on our website at www.easternregionalserviceboard.com
